Our Story
Our mission is to seek to deliver excess risk-adjusted returns by leveraging our AI software platform and data science team in private markets and to provide flexible capital to companies. In 2018, we partnered with Cowen Inc. to launch Cowen Sustainable Investments. In December 2023, co-founders Vusal Najafov and Ewa Kozicz reacquired the firm and rebranded it back to Anthelion Capital.
We continue to innovate our software platform leveraging the latest AI technology. This platform is leveraged for credit underwriting and portfolio management for broadly syndicated bank loans and direct lending investments. It also provides key insights to our portfolio companies.
Anthelion Capital is primarily backed by large institutional investors including pension plans and sovereign wealth funds. Anthelion also acts as the investment manager for Alphite Capital, a specialty finance company focused on middle market and broadly syndicated bank loans.
Meet the Team
Vusal Najafov

Mr. Najafov is a co-Founder of Anthelion Capital and oversees strategy, investment selection, portfolio construction, and AI-native software platform development for the firm. He has twenty-four years of experience investing across sectors and asset classes as well as developing investing-focused data science software platforms. At Anthelion, Mr. Najafov co-led design and development of proprietary AI-native software platform for private credit and equity markets. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Camber, ecoATM, GreyOrange and Board Observer of actnano.

Ms. Kozicz is a co-Founder of Anthelion Capital and oversees strategy, investment selection and portfolio construction for the firm. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Camber, ecoATM, and quip. Ms. Kozicz has more than twenty-five years of investment experience across sectors and asset classes, including significant expertise in agriculture, industrials, and financial services.

Ms. Barone is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Anthelion. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Camber. Ms. Barone has over 24 years of experience, including 18 years as a COO with a focus on launching and operating new funds in the asset management space.

Mr. Shrem is a Vice President at Anthelion Capital focusing on the trading and sourcing of credit investments. Prior to joining Anthelion, Mr. Shrem was a Senior Associate on the credit team at Z Capital Group where he was responsible for trading all credit investments for the firms CLO’s and opportunistic vehicles.

Mr. Huang’s primary responsibilities include deal execution and building Anthelion Capital’s technology platform using data analytics and machine learning. Previously Mr. Huang was a Corporate & Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Agricole focused on capital recapitalization and debt issuance for industrial companies.

Mr. Sun is the Deputy CFO and Controller of Anthelion Capital. He is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of Anthelion Funds. Prior to this, Mr. Sun spent the last several years at Cowen devoted to performing similar functions for Anthelion Capital predecessor, CSI.
